Multi-Cloud Governance
Framework

Managing resources across multiple cloud providers (Azure, AWS, and GCP) increases complexity. Establishing a unified governance framework is essential to control costs and keep configurations compliant.

Unified Identity & Access

Do not maintain separate identities in each cloud provider's directory. Integrate all cloud portals with a single enterprise identity manager (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID) using SAML/OIDC federation, allowing single sign-on (SSO) and unified access auditing.

Automated Policy & Compliance

Enforce governance guidelines automatically at the account/subscription level. Apply Azure Policies, AWS Service Control Policies (SCPs), and GCP Organization Policies to restrict deployment regions, prevent network bypasses, and block insecure database setups.

Chargeback & Cost Control

Implement strict resource tagging standards to track costs across platforms. Use central cloud cost tracking dashboards (e.g. cloud-native dashboards or tools like CloudHealth) to map expenditures directly back to departments, projects, or cost centers.
